Coffee beans are naturally green, but they are usually roasted by the manufacturer before being sold to the consumer which turns them brown.

Coffee beans are naturally full of antioxidants and pharmacologically active compounds, two of the most important ones being Caffeine and Chlorogenic Acid.

Most of the chlorogenic acid is removed when coffee is roasted. This means that regular coffee beans won’t have the same effect even though there are plenty of other good reasons to drink normal coffee.

Chlorogenic Acid is believed to be the main active ingredient in green coffee beans. This ingredient can reduce body weight, reduce fat absorbed from the diet, reduce fat stored in the liver and improve the function of the fat burning hormone adiponectin. Homemade Almond & Coconut Butter

Ingredients Needed:

300g Almonds blended.

180g pure coconut oil.

Small amount of macadamia oil.

 

How To:

First, blend the 300g of almonds until a paste consistency is achieved.

Any blender will do the job but personally use a Vitamix blender.

Once this is blended, add the 180g of pure coconut oil to the almond paste.

Once mixed in the blender, add a splash of macadamia oil to the mix and blend again.

Pour the finished mix into jars and store them at room temperature.

Butter is always best eaten when it is of a paste consistency rather than as a liquid.

Chicken & Broccoli Pasta

Cook angel hair pasta in salted water and drain well.
Cook broccoli florets in boiling water for a few minutes and drain.
In a large saucepan, sauté chicken pieces until done. Remove and set aside.
In same pan melt butter and add cream, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Heat for 2 minutes without boiling and then add parmesan cheese and stir to melt. Add chicken pieces, cooked pasta and broccoli florets lightly tossing to coat. If you want more sauce, use optional milk.
Serve and sprinkle some parmesan cheese as a garnish.

• 6 ounces angel hair pasta
• 2 chicken breasts, cut in pieces
• 3 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 cups broccoli florets
• 1⁄4 cup butter, melted
• 1 1⁄2 cups heavy cream
• 1⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
• salt and pepper (to taste)
• 1⁄3 cup milk (optional)
• 1⁄4 cup parmesan cheese (garnish)
